Guide
How many bank bonuses can you do at once?
As many as your paycheck can cover. Each bank wants a minimum deposit, so most people run two or three at a time and line up the next ones as each finishes.
What the number of accounts changes
From our planner, for someone in Pennsylvania taking home $2,000 every two weeks, using offers verified this month:
| New accounts at a time | About this year | Bonuses |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $3,075 | 8 |
| 2 | $3,850 | 11 |
| 3 | $4,000 | 13 |
Going from one new account at a time to two adds about $775 here. A third adds about $150, because past that the total depends on which banks you can reach, not how many you run at once.
What limits you
- Your paycheck. Each bank needs its own minimum, and one paycheck can only be split so far. The smallest verified requirements right now: TD Bank $500, Huntington $500, Associated Bank $500, Chime $500, FourLeaf FCU $500.
- Your payroll. Many payroll systems allow two or three deposit accounts. Check yours.
- Extra rules. Debit purchase counts and monthly fees add work for each open account.
- Bank rules about past bonuses. Most banks pay a new-account bonus once every 12 to 24 months, and some only once ever.
Do banks mind?
Banks don't see your other banks' bonuses. Many check ChexSystems when you apply, and lots of applications in a short time can lead to a denial, so spacing them out is the safer path.
